My Biography

Guy S. DiMartino has dedicated more than 25 years to the practice of law, representing individuals, families, businesses, and local governments in state and federal courts across the country. His legal career reflects deep courtroom experience, real-world judgment, and a steady commitment to ensuring that every person is treated with dignity and has meaningful access to justice.

DEEP REGIONAL ROOTS & SERVICE TO NORTHWEST INDIANA

Guy’s connection to Northwest Indiana spans decades. Before becoming an attorney, he spent 16 years serving the public as a doctor of chiropractic in Northwest Indiana (1987–2003), where he cared for patients, operated a small business, and built long-standing relationships throughout the Region. During those years, he raised his daughter, Toni, here. One memorable snapshot of that period appeared in the Northwest Indiana Times in 1991, featuring Guy walking Toni home from St. Bridget School in Hobart during a rainy spring afternoon—a reminder of the everyday life he shared with local families.

Even as his legal career later expanded into multiple jurisdictions, Northwest Indiana remained his professional home. Guy has maintained a physical law office in LaPorte County for more than a decade and has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to the community he has served for years.

EXTENSIVE LEGAL EXPERIENCE ACROSS JURISDICTIONS

Guy has represented clients in trial courts across the country and has handled appeals before the Indiana Court of Appeals, Florida’s Third and Fifth District Courts of Appeal, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Eleventh Circuits. He has tried numerous cases in multiple states and brings a level of real-world trial experience that is rare among judicial candidates.

He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar, a credential awarded to attorneys with significant jury trial experience and demonstrated expertise in complex civil matters. Disclaimer: Certification is granted by The Florida Bar. Indiana does not offer legal specialty certification.

SERVICE TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Guy’s commitment to public service includes significant municipal law experience. He served as attorney for the LaPorte County Council for eight years, advising on governance, compliance, budgeting, and litigation matters. He currently represents the LaPorte County Board of Commissioners, providing guidance on contracts, risk management, and day-to-day governmental operations, and the LaPorte County Regional Development Commission, where he advises the body on legal and operational matters. This experience gives him a unique understanding of the challenges facing local government and the role courts play in the lives of LaPorte County residents.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

Guy’s judicial philosophy is grounded in three core principles: fidelity and commitment to the rule of law; neutrality, ensuring every person is treated with dignity, empathy, and respect; and discernment, applying the facts of each case to the law without regard to personal feelings.

Decades of trial work have given Guy firsthand insight into how courts impact individuals, families, and businesses. His balanced, real-world background positions him to administer justice with fairness, clarity, and professionalism.

EDUCATOR, LECTURER, AND EXPERT WITNESS

Guy has served as a lecturer for professional organizations, including risk management programs for healthcare providers and continuing legal education sessions through the National Business Institute (NBI). He has also been retained as an expert witness in both healthcare and legal matters, further reflecting the breadth of his knowledge and credibility across multiple disciplines.

FAITH, FAMILY, AND COMMUNITY

For more than 30 years, Guy has served as an Anglican Catholic priest, a vocation that shapes his approach to listening, compassion, service, and integrity. He views judicial service as another way to walk alongside people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Guy is married to Joan. Together, they enjoy time with Toni and their three grandchildren. Guy looks forward to serving the community with honesty, humility, and a deep respect for the rule of law.
